WHERE TO START?
There is so much to see and Cornwall is now a real foodie destination. However, here is a short selection.
The Eden Project - https://www.edenproject.com/ the World famous botanical gardens in geodesic domes enclosing multiple climates with their flora from around the globe. Recently visited by the G7 attendees. About a 1 hour drive.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan - 19th century gardens that were overgrown and lost but now reclaimed after 30 years works. https://www.heligan.com/ 1 hour
Surfing on the North Coast. One can surf at most beaches in Cornwall, some on the South coast like Praa Sands. However, the most well known are on the North coast. Most are within an hour's drive but the closest is probably Porthtowan, about 40 minutes away. https://www.cornwall-beaches.co.uk/north-coast/porthtowan.htm
The Lizard Peninsula. The Lizard, the most Southerly part of the British mainland, is often bypassed as people head west. Consequently, it is relatively unknown and has the atmosphere of 50 years ago. Places to visit - Gunwalloe, Mullion Cove, spectacular Kynance Cove, Lizard Point, and the fishing villages of Cadgewith and Coverack. The home of Goonhilly Earth Station. https://www.visitcornwall.com/places/the-lizard
Falmouth and the National Maritime Museum. https://nmmc.co.uk/. Visit Rick Stein's fish and chip restaurant in Events Square adjacent to the museum. Falmouth has a quirky feel about it with a working shipyard and a large student population. At Pendennis head is the Ships and Castles Leisure Centre adjacent to a castle built by Henry VIII. https://www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/cornwall/ships-and-castles
From the car park at Pendennis Head, there are wonderful views across to the Roseland peninsula and St. Mawes. 20 mins drive.
